Hi. My name is Glynn and i own a modified 1979 capri called marmite (people either love or hate the interior). the car was modified in approx 1990 with a cartel bodykit and quilted blue velvet interior. I have owned the car for approximately 5 years and in that time i have replaced the 3 litre v6 that was fitted when i bought it, with a rover 3.5l v8. nice car Glynn my 1st car was a canary yellow mk2 facelift 2ltrs i paid £600 in 1989 for it and spent about £7000 on it with a stage 2 RS2000 lump 4 speed external linkage gearbox and a 2.8 limited slip diff , i then lowered the beast and spent a fortune on a stereo system and total closure alarm on it lol
3 years later it was written off by a joy rider who hit me on the westmoors army camp bends 
was by far the most fun car ive ever owned

Thanks, I've got to agree its all about the sound with a v8. I usually get about 19 to the gallon and that's with my friend steve driving, which i think is not too bad. I only ever got about 25 mpg out of any ford i've owned and once had a 1.6 cortina that did 10 mpg. That was in the olden days when petrol was a reasonable price.

That is not bad going at all really, i am lucky to see 27mpg out of mildly tuned 2litre twincam.

I got to admit though even though it dont sound as good as yours it is a nice sounding 4 cylinder.

Hi Adam, I think we would all be lost without Julie keeping the club organised. Luckily Anya arranged for me to go to the local airfield for my birthday last year. Must admit the brakes faded totally after the third run. Got a bit scary after that. Below are the current prices for circuit hire from Haynes website. It's got rather expensive. I used to pay £40 for a day when i used to go their with Dreamracers.

Track Hire Charges
