2.8i cologne V6 wont run
« on: 17:58 Saturday 04 April 2009 »
Right guys i finally give up on this thing, i think it's all down to flooding but im not 100% sure.

if i clean the plugs it will fire but wont keep running, after turning it over for a minute with no joy it will briefly fire on the back turn of the key, plugs then need to be cleaned again (soaked in fuel).

ive changed the fuel pump, fuel metering unit, cold start valve, distributor and the plenem chamber.

any suggestions would be very grateful, cheers Kev

We also had the same problem with a xr4i a while back, it turned out to be the injectors were not not spraying so the only thing we could assume was were it was dribbling instead of spraying the spark was not strong enough to ignite the fuel.

I really want my sierra finished, i hate waiting games.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions on this one, turns out were all wrong.

changed the injector yesterday and still doing the same, as a last ditch effort before it went on ebay or got a door plate and cage i thought i'd try changing the spark plugs, took the BPR 6ES out and changed them for BP 6ES without the resister. Damn thing fired up on the button, all that's needed is to get the turbo back on and set it up.

she will be going to Alsershot tommorrow all be it on the trailer this time, see you all in the morning.
