My Sierra XR4x4
« on: 16:30 Friday 23 July 2010 »
Its been off the road for a year now due to the twinturbo engine having a piston munching competion :(
Now fitted with a Cosworth 24v lump with Bob cams, Vectra injectors, custom exhaust, will be getting a few more bits and bobs etc over this winter, ecu etc... obviously I've modified the sump etc for 4x4 and well here it is... :)

You'll have to excuse the different wheels I was undecided lol have now stuck with the dark multispokes and I have now got matching mouldings all round :)

Cheers,

Hi, Awesome sierra you've got there. My wife has got a normal 2.9 xr 4x4 which is quick enough and a friend of mine had a 24v granada so i know how quick that engine can be. Sounds like a really good combination. I was just wondering what advantage the vectra injectors give.

Not much if anything with standard ecu to be honest, they have a much better spray pattern than the ford ones which is obviously good but when you upgrade ecu's and stuff then they can be mapped better to eliminate a mild flat spot at around 3k rpm that you don't notice in the auto granada. Thats the theory anyway :) whether they actually make any 'real world' difference has yet to be proven for definete :)
Thanks for the comment on the car  8)
